"Students, limited access to finance" - Tafa: There are some products designed for them, but financial awareness is also low

Students' access to finance remains limited. Despite the fact that commercial banks offer some financial products specifically for them, awareness of the existence of these products is low.
This was stated by pedagogue Besarta Tafa in an interview with Scan Television, who stated that higher education institutions have played an important role in raising students' awareness of the existence of certain products, such as student loans, as well as the benefits that these loans offer.
"We can say that students in Albania have limited access to finance, some of them may have a bank account, they may use a debit card or a banking application, but their access to genuine financial products designed for their age is limited. Since most of them are economically supported by their family, they do not have much access to the financial market, to the products it offers," said Tafa.
However, according to her, cooperation between banks and universities should be further deepened, in order to offer more diverse financial products to students, also accompanied by an awareness campaign.
"First, there is a great need for in-depth cooperation between universities and the banking system, in order to offer students financial products or financial product packages designed specifically for their age and needs, but on the other hand, this must also be supported by an in-depth financial education infrastructure that will enable students to have knowledge of basic financial terms and then on how to access the financial market with all the products it offers," said Pedagogia.
Student financial inclusion is very important, so that they have access to and use affordable financial products or services that meet their needs.
