500 million lek for the Himara-Potam promenade/ The project foresees panoramic views and green spaces

The Municipality of Himara has announced the opening of the competition for the construction of the Spile-Saraçinko pedestrian walkway with a limit fund of 500 million lek. According to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, this project envisages an intervention of strategic importance for the structuring of the coastline and the creation of a public, functional, accessible and qualitative corridor in the service of the community and visitors. The project envisages the construction of the Himara-Potam promenade, with the aim of improving public spaces and increasing the tourist potential of the territory.
The document further emphasizes that the project is conceived as an urban and coastal intervention, where in addition to the promenade, new elements of public infrastructure will also be included. Part of the project will also be panoramic points, conceived as stopping and observation spaces, from where visitors will be able to enjoy the view of the sea and the landscape of Himara.
Another important component is the arrangement of the coast and the beach area. The intervention aims to improve the functional, aesthetic and environmental conditions, ensuring a more sustainable and controlled use of the coastal space. The project also foresees the creation of a pier, which will serve as a functional and recreational element, increasing access to the sea and opportunities for the development of coastal activities.
According to the technical document, the current state of the Himara-Potam axis appears fragmented. The pavement varies from one segment to another and includes concrete, asphalt, prefabricated slabs and unpaved surfaces. The new promenade will be designed according to a unified standard, with the aim of guaranteeing accessibility for all users.
The project envisages the structuring of green spaces, the improvement of rest areas and the creation of green and shaded belts. The promenade aims to create a more functional connection between the city, the beach and the natural landscape, while improving the quality of public spaces and the experience of residents and tourists.
The intervention along the Himara-Potam axis will serve not only as infrastructure for pedestrian movement, but also as a new public space for recreation and social activity, increasing tourism potential.
