New port in Porto Romano, construction starts in 2027 - Muçaj: We are in the bid review phase, cost for phase I is estimated at 350 million euros

Works on the construction of the new commercial port in Porto Romano are expected to begin in 2027, while the offers submitted by the companies participating in the tender are currently being reviewed.
The details were announced by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enkelejda Muçaj, during the discussion of the 2026 budget in parliamentary committees.
Muçaj also announced the costs for the first phase of the project.
The government has stated that the new port in Porto Romano will create a logistics space, which will serve as a center for further economic growth for the Tirana - Durrës area and the handling of transit cargo at the port, and that it will place Albania as a node in regional infrastructure networks, bringing growth and improvements in terms of the country's economic and social development.
