The Albanian road fleet is being modernized - DPSHTRR: January-October, about 83 thousand new vehicles registered

The national vehicle market is experiencing significant and sustainable expansion, reflecting the modernization of road infrastructure as well as the increased awareness of citizens about the use of new, safer and more environmentally friendly vehicles.
According to data published by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, 82,814 road vehicles were registered during the period January-October 2025. Compared to the same period in 2019, an increase of 99% was recorded and is interpreted as a clear reflection of the positive transformation of the Albanian automotive market.
Of the total number of registered vehicles, 67,603 are cars, which represent 81.6% of the total number of registrations, demonstrating the increasing demand for personal vehicles with advanced safety and ecological systems.
This dynamic development of the vehicle market is interpreted as a direct indicator of the pace of modernization of the road fleet in the country and closer to contemporary European standards. It also reflects a new spirit of civic orientation towards more efficient vehicles, with reduced fuel consumption and lower environmental impact.
At the same time, this positive trend is expected to contribute significantly to improving road safety, where during the period January-October 2025, 7,071 vehicles were permanently removed from circulation throughout the country.
