Ministry of Defense: 33 fires reported, 6 still active

During the last 24 hours, 33 fires have been reported in the country's territory, of which 6 remain active and 10 others are being kept under surveillance, the Ministry of Defense announced today.

214 operational forces and 30 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to manage the situation. The operations have been supported by the Armed Forces with 60 personnel, 3 firefighting vehicles, a heavy tracked excavator, 3 helicopters and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.

Operational engagement continues in several regions, with a particular focus on Tirana, Dibër, Lezha, Shkodër and Durrës.

In Dajti Mountain, the intervention to extinguish the still active fires continues, while no danger to inhabited areas is reported.

In the Gojan–Gjegjan–Tërbun area, in the Municipality of Puka, the intervention continues with local forces and the Armed Forces. During today, 40 more AF personnel and a helicopter for air support have been deployed. The situation has been brought under control and there is no danger to homes. Meanwhile, the outbreak in Prozhëm continues to be active and work is being done to isolate it.

In the Dibër district, the outbreaks in Ballenjë and Qafë i Helmës remain active, while the outbreak in Bërshi is being kept under surveillance.

In Mirdita, the outbreak in Shtuf remains active, while the outbreaks in Lufaj and Tena have been isolated and are being monitored.

The structures of the Civil Protection system at the central and local levels continue to monitor the situation and engage in the field, with priority given to the isolation and complete extinguishing of active outbreaks, as well as the prevention of reactivations.

The National Civil Protection Agency continues to continuously monitor the situation throughout the territory, in coordination with prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system.

Operational capacities remain engaged in the field and ready to intervene where the situation requires, with priority given to protecting the lives, homes and property of citizens.
