Malaj meets with World Bank team - Discussions on bilateral cooperation

The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, held a working meeting with a World Bank team, consisting of the World Bank Director for the Western Balkans, Xiaoqing Yu, the World Bank Country Manager for Albania, Massimiliano Paolucci, the World Bank Manager for the Financial Sector and Private Sector Development for Europe, Martha Martinez Licetti, as well as other World Bank representatives.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the progress of cooperation to date between the Albanian government and the World Bank, in particular the financial support provided by the WB towards the development policies of our country.
Minister Malaj praised the cooperation with the World Bank and the support that this international institution has provided and is currently providing for the implementation of the reforms undertaken by the Albanian government, and emphasized the importance of this partnership for accelerating the process of Albania's integration into the European Union.
The cooperation with the World Bank is aligned with the Government Program 2025–2029 and aims to accelerate sustainable growth, strengthen fiscal stability, create more productive and better-paid jobs, increase private sector competitiveness, and advance environmental sustainability.
During the meeting, it was assessed that this is an important step towards meeting EU standards and ensuring a better future for Albanian citizens.
