Reconstruction of three roads in Saranda - Municipality opens the competition, quality infrastructure for vacationers and residents

The Municipality of Saranda has announced the opening of the competition for the requalification of several internal roads in the area known as “Lugu i Dardhës”, one of the areas with urban and tourist development potential in the city. According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the project aims to improve the infrastructure in this area.
Meanwhile, the project foresees intervention in three road segments, which are currently in a depreciated and degraded state in a significant part of them. The existing problems are mainly related to the damage to the road layers, the lack of suitable conditions for the circulation of vehicles and pedestrians, as well as the lack of necessary urban elements that guarantee safety and functionality.
According to the document, the intervention will be complete and will consist not only of the reconstruction of the roads, but also of the general improvement of the surrounding urban environment. The project aims to create a modern infrastructure that meets contemporary standards and responds to the needs of the local community, turning this area into a more accessible and functional space for residents and visitors.
Another important aspect of this investment is the impact it is expected to have on the tourism development of the area. “Lugu i Dardhës” is considered one of the areas with increasing frequency from domestic and foreign vacationers, so the improvement of the road infrastructure is expected to directly impact the increase in the quality of services and the experience of visitors. The main beneficiaries of the project will be the residents of the area, but also the tourists who choose Saranda as a destination for their holidays.
The limit fund foreseen for the implementation of this project is 20 million 699 thousand lekë. According to the document, the project will be designed and implemented in accordance with all applicable norms and standards, according to the European Union as well as international best practices in the field of design and construction.
This investment aims to improve the quality of life for citizens, while simultaneously giving a new impetus to the city's urban and tourist development.
