New investment for water supply in the Korça region - 10 villages, towards improving water supply
The Public Procurement Agency has opened a tender procedure for the water supply infrastructure in several villages of Korça. The project, with a limited fund of 145.9 million lek, will be implemented by the Korça Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company JSC, and aims to build new drinking water supply networks in some of the most important villages in the area.
The villages that will benefit from this investment are in Miras, Vidohova, Eçmenik, Vreshtas, Bejkovo, Vodicë, Borovë, Tren, Zëmblak and Sovjan, where drinking water supply currently faces numerous difficulties due to depreciated networks or the lack of proper infrastructure.
According to the technical tender documentation, the winning contractor will be responsible for executing topographic studies and preparing longitudinal profiles, which will be submitted to the supervising engineer prior to the start of works.
The works include the construction of new distribution networks, water tanks and supporting sub-facilities. The pressure pipelines will undergo a rigorous cleaning process, until the circulation of clean water is guaranteed. All works will be carried out in accordance with Albanian and European Union (EEC) standards. Every material and component to be used in the construction must be certified and in accordance with national or international codes of practice. This investment is expected to have a major positive impact on the rural communities of Korça, guaranteeing a more sustainable and quality supply of drinking water.
