Minimum wage increases in Kosovo - Ministry of Finance: From January 1, 425 euros gross. On July 1, it will be 500 euros

The Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers announces that the minimum wage has increased from 350 euros gross to 425 euros gross, entering into force on January 1 of this year.
According to the announcement of this ministry, the implementation of the decision will be carried out in two phases, to facilitate employers' gradual adaptation to the change: First phase: minimum wage €425 gross (from January 1), second phase: from July 1, the minimum wage will reach €500 gross.
"This increase constitutes an important measure for increasing the welfare of workers and aligning the minimum wage with current labor market conditions. The responsible institutions will ensure the full and regular implementation of this decision, in accordance with the legislation in force," the announcement states.
However, the business community considered this decision political and hasty, as according to them, it was made without consultation and in-depth analysis.
On October 31, 2025, the incumbent Government decided to increase the minimum wage for 2026. The minimum wage in Kosovo was 350 euros gross. This increase was made in August 2024, a few days after the Law on Minimum Wage entered into force, which provided for an increase to 264 euros gross. Until the new law entered into force, the minimum wage in Kosovo was 130 euros for workers under 35 years of age and 170 euros for workers up to 65 years of age.
