Energy cuts affect businesses - Kosovo Chamber of Commerce expresses concern

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has expressed its deep concern about the severe electricity cuts being applied almost throughout the country, highlighting the serious consequences that this situation is causing for businesses.
According to the Chamber, over the past few days a large number of member businesses have reported frequent and unplanned power outages, which are causing immediate increases in operating costs, losses in production and ongoing risk to their operations.
This situation, according to the Chamber of Commerce, has been further exacerbated by the 16.1 percent increase in electricity prices for regulated consumers, as well as the entry of over 1,300 businesses into the open energy market. These developments have caused significant economic damage and are negatively affecting the competitiveness of the private sector.
"The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on all responsible actors in the energy sector to take urgent action to stabilize the electricity supply, increase transparency in the management of the energy system, and create stable conditions for the functioning of businesses and the preservation of jobs," the announcement states.
