Improvement of road axes in 12 regions - ADF opens tenders worth 2.5 billion

With a fund limit of 2.5 billion lek, the Albanian Development Fund has opened two procurement procedures for the improvement of road axes in 12 regions of the country.

Each of the tenders has a fund limit of 1.25 billion lek. One project includes the regions of Elbasan, Korçë, Berat, Vlorë, Fier and Gjirokastër, while the other covers the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana and Dibër.

According to the announcement published by the Public Procurement Agency, the procedures were opened on August 7, while the deadline for submitting bids was set for September 9.

According to the accompanying documents, the interventions will include road axes that have damage to asphalt layers or problems that impede normal vehicle circulation. The objective is to improve the quality of road infrastructure, increase traffic safety and facilitate access to areas with economic and tourist potential.

According to the technical report, interventions will be determined based on the condition of each segment, while the latter will be determined by municipalities according to needs.

The technical specifications also define the standards that must be applied during the execution of the works, including site organization, material quality control, traffic management, public and environmental protection, and compliance with national and international construction standards.
