Instagram, the first choice of young people in Albania - Men lead with the highest number of users
Facebook continues to be the social network with the largest number of users in Albania, while Instagram is increasingly strengthening its position, especially among the younger generations. The latest data published by NapoleonCat for the month of July shows that during 2026, around 2,037,800 Facebook users and 1,442,200 Instagram users were registered in Albania.
On Facebook, 55.3% of users are male, while 44.7% are female. A similar trend is observed on Instagram, where 52.2% of users are male and 47.8% female, showing a more balanced distribution compared to Facebook.
In terms of age groups, users aged 25–34 make up the largest audience on both platforms. On Facebook, this age group accounts for 32.9% of total users, while on Instagram its share is even higher, reaching 36.5%. It is followed by the age groups 35–44 and 18–24, while social media usage gradually declines among those over 45.
The data shows that, although Facebook maintains the advantage in total number of users, Instagram is consolidating itself as the main platform for young people and for visual content, attracting a higher percentage of users in active ages.
The statistics provide a clear picture of how Albanians use social networks and can serve as an important indicator for businesses, advertisers, and content creators who aim to reach different audiences by age and platform.
