Israel, India and Egypt "choose" Albania/ Countries with the highest increase in the number of arrivals for the 8-month period of 2025
Albania continues to experience new tourist success with figures showing not only overall growth, but also specific developments that make the panorama of foreign arrivals more diverse and interesting than ever. From January to August 2025, over 8.9 million visitors entered the country, an increase of 5.2% compared to the same period last year.
The largest share, as usual, belongs to Kosovo. More than 3.3 million Kosovo Albanians have entered Albania in the first eight months of the year, but the growth is almost imperceptible, only 0.6%. This shows that this market is already consolidated and there is not much room for new explosions. In contrast, North Macedonia has recorded a significant growth of 10.1%, while Greece is even higher, with 11.5%. Montenegro remains in slight growth with 4.6%. Neighbors remain the main pillar of inbound tourism in Albania, maintaining their traditional weight in this market.
In Western Europe, there was a big surprise, France increased its arrivals by 43.9%. Such an increase places France among the most vibrant markets of the moment. Equally significant is Germany, which has recorded an increase of 21% and has exceeded the figure of 300 thousand visitors. The United Kingdom and the Netherlands have also recorded good performance, while Austria, Belgium and the Czech Republic maintain a stable growth. However, not every European market has reacted the same. Poland, which at first glance gives the impression of a country with growth, has actually fallen by over 10%, marking a significant loss compared to last year. Romania has also fallen by 7.5% and Spain by 4.3%.
New markets have brought the biggest surprises. Israel is the clearest example, from only 6,822 arrivals in 2024, the number of Israeli visitors has increased to 45,758, marking an incredible increase of 570.7%. This explosion indicates the opening of a market with great potential, which until yesterday was almost non-existent. Equally impressive are the figures from India, where arrivals have increased by 69.5%, as well as from Egypt, which has marked 67.9%. Denmark has also shown a strong trend, with an increase of 56.2%, proving that Nordic tourists are increasingly discovering Albania. China, on the other hand, has brought a steady growth of 27.9%, reinforcing its role as one of the most promising markets of the future.
From the Americas, the United States has recorded an increase of 7.2%, Canada by 14.4% and Australia by 8.8%, while another surprise comes from South America, where Argentina has increased by 38.6% and Brazil by 16.4%.
