The decision on Balluk's immunity does not hinder the EU accession process

During a press conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that yesterday's Parliament decision on Balluk's immunity does not hinder the EU membership process.
"The SPAK request did not meet the conditions to be taken into consideration, while the attempt to link the refusal to any other reason or to give the refusal the dimension of a fact that will block Albania's path to the EU or will hinder the further implementation of the justice reform or will hinder the independent activity of the justice system, is an ugly attempt, and in its desperation it has all the ingredients that are present in our daily lives in the attempt to do everything possible to hinder Albania and to slow down the rapid steps with which we are moving in the negotiation process.
I want to assure everyone that there is no stopping our unstoppable path towards EU membership. There is no discussion regarding our will to continue on the path we have opened in the independence of justice and in the real fight against corruption, just as there is no doubt that in this case we are not facing a corruption case. Only the prosecution has not filed a corruption charge, we are facing a case under investigation which can be investigated freely without the slightest obstacle. I encourage the prosecution to follow and investigate all the leads where it can be thought that the thorn of corruption may appear along the way ", said Prime Minister Rama.
