Food basket, "immune" to oil price hike - Almost at the same levels as a month ago. Traders predict price hike

For days now, citizens have been facing high prices for fruits and vegetables. Traders justify this with the increase in oil prices. But has the oil price affected the products in the basket?
So far, it seems not. Prices of basic products, such as vegetable oil, flour, sugar, pasta, meat and dairy products, do not seem to have been "infected" by the upward trend.
SCAN Television has conducted an observation, which shows that prices vary from one market to another.
A liter of sunflower oil is sold for between 175 and 199 lek, while corn oil costs over 250 lek/liter.
Meanwhile, flour for general use is traded between 75 and 150 lek/kg.
Sugar is a product that has also not experienced growth and is sold at 65-75 lek/kg.
Pasta also varies depending on whether it is domestic or imported, and its quality, with Albanian products being cheaper compared to foreign ones. The same goes for rice, which has different qualities and uses, and the average price is around 200 lek/kg.
However, most large supermarkets also offer deals on basic products. This way, consumers can choose the cheapest products and what fits their budget.
As for dairy and meat, prices remain unchanged. Traders off-camera say that prices in wholesale markets have increased slightly, but retail traders have not yet reflected this, due to fear of losing customers, saying that they are earning less in a situation where costs have increased significantly.
