"Young people should be careful with the development of technology" - Activity on the occasion of International Data Protection Day

The Office of the Commissioner for the Right to Information and Personal Data Protection organized an awareness-raising activity on the importance of respecting privacy, preserving and protecting personal data.

This activity brought together school leaders, students, teachers and parents. Commissioner Besnik Dervishi spoke about the importance of raising awareness among young people about the security of personal data.

"I emphasize the importance of raising awareness among young people about the security of personal data, as well as the approach to preserving this data, even in the face of the exposure that technology can bring. Recalling that this year is an election year, I appeal to young people who will exercise their right to vote to be careful with their personal data."

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office, Olsi Dekovi, stressed the importance of safeguarding personal data at a time when, with the development of technology, caution must be increased.

"Personal data, including in the online space, are assets that must be treated with great care, especially by young people. In relation to their protection, continuous education and timely addressing of any possible breaches are required."

In conclusion, the event organized by the Office of the Commissioner for Data Protection and the Right to Information highlighted the importance of raising awareness about privacy and the protection of personal data, especially in the digital age.
