Former Film Studio into Hollywood Training Center - "Over 40 Professionals", Rama: An Encouraging and Inspiring Program
“Tirana Training Centre”, is the new center for the development of cinematography and audiovisual productions in Albania, which comes as a result of cooperation with the United States of America. This center will offer professional training in fields such as acting, directing, animation, production and writing, for all young creators.
“We have over 40 industry professionals from all over the world who have agreed to teach at the training center in Tirana. All with decades of experience under their belts. This will be a creative way for this industry and we hope that what will come as a result of this work is a bigger vision, a bigger objective. It is not just a school or a place where you learn to write. It is a place where you build your career.”
According to Prime Minister Edi Rama, this center is a considered space and that this program is encouraging and inspiring for all young Albanians.
"This is truly a special moment because we are returning here to this space, after a hard work for its entire restoration, to open an absolutely encouraging and inspiring program, creating new opportunities for all the young men and women of creative Albania. A few years ago we had a discussion on Zoom with a number of protagonists of this space, young protagonists from the US, who actually represent at different levels, but up to the highest levels, the US creative industry, and I believe that it is a motive to be filled with even more faith, and to have even more conviction that all these things that are happening are part of a chain that has already entered a completely different rhythm of self-development and I believe very much in this program. So, this is a beginning, it will take its time like all things that take their time, but in fact it is a beginning that comes after a very long process and effort, which has begun to give us its fruits every day. And I am very grateful to all those who believed in this day.”
According to the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, this center will serve as a stimulus for vocational education branches.
“The scale of the cooperation we are launching today encourages us that “Tirana Training Center” will very quickly become the catalyst for an epochal revolution and much-needed transformation for the creative industry in Albania. First, we stimulate the creation of a new branch of professional education, directly related to the field of film and screen, including all its components. Second, we create a direct instrument that will connect the market with professionals and enthusiasts in the field, offering new opportunities for cooperation, exchange and development of joint regional and wider projects. Third, we help build a strong productive and supportive ecosystem, where anyone with desire and passion can play an important role in the development of sustainable and innovative projects. And fourth, this project has the potential to bring great economic, social and cultural benefits, placing Albania at the center of the Mediterranean map of the creative and productive industry. In this new cultural epicenter of Tirana, 400 students, ranging from children to adults, will be able to be trained at the same time, in classes for acting, directing, animation, cinematography, music, production, screenwriting, etc.
