Albania the new destination for African tourists/ Visitors doubled from January to the end of July
In the period January-July 2025, a total of 6.5 million foreign citizens entered Albania, marking an increase compared to the same period in 2024 when 6.3 million entries were counted.
According to data processed by INSTAT, the vast majority of entries come from Europe, with over 6.2 million visitors, most of whom are from Southern Europe (over 4.6 million).
However, what is striking is the significant increase in the number of African nationals. In the first seven months of 2025, 24,681 Africans entered, compared to only 15,489 in the same period a year earlier, an increase of about 60%.
In addition to Africa, entries from the Americas (193,364 from 170,932) and South Asia (25,976 from 15,324) have also increased.
So, while Europe remains the main source of visitors, the increase in arrivals from Africa indicates a diversification of the flow of foreigners choosing Albania, reflecting the influence of tourist and perhaps also migratory factors.
Another interesting element is the steady growth of visitors from Western Europe, who during this seven-month period reached over 652 thousand arrivals, up from 513 thousand last year, which indicates a growing interest of tourists from countries with high purchasing power in Albania as a holiday destination.
