Schools, with new rules - From the fight against bullying, to security officers
The instruction "On the continuous professional qualification of teachers of professional culture in vocational education and training" has been published in the Official Gazette, which presents the measures that must be taken for the start of the new academic year 2025-2026.
The guidance focuses on student registration, textbook distribution, school safety, and measures against bullying and violence. School principals must post lists of textbooks for each grade in visible places, including the title, publisher, price, and dates and place of distribution.
For grades one through nine, as well as for needy categories, textbooks will be provided free of charge, in accordance with the decisions of the Council of Ministers. Another important measure is the ban on the use of mobile phones in school premises. This will be included in the internal regulations of each school, and implementation will be supervised by the directorate.
The guidance also strengthens the roles of psychosocial services and security officers, who will work according to updated professional standards and ethics.
Reporting on their progress will be carried out periodically to the Ministry of Education.
The prevention of violence, bullying and extremism in schools also remains in the spotlight. MAS calls for the establishment of "Stop Violence" corners, "antibullying" teams, the strengthening of ethics and discipline committees, as well as the organization of awareness-raising activities on November 21, which marks the National Day against Bullying.
Schools and local authorities are required to report any incidents of violence and provide detailed reports on the measures taken, in accordance with the national action plan. This guidance comes as part of preparations for the new school year and aims to ensure a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every student.
