About 81.2% of Albanians are active savers/ BoA survey: We register a rate higher than the OECD average

Based on the "Survey on the Financial Literacy of Adults in Albania", developed by the Bank of Albania, "Scan Intel" this time focused on the main characteristics of the financial behavior of individuals in our country.
It should be noted that the survey was conducted with a group of 1,000 individuals aged 18-79, with a proportional distribution throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania.
According to the data on the percentage of people on each of the questions on financial behavior, we see that about 65% of them keep notes of money in the short term. This rate is higher than the average of the other countries analyzed and very slightly below the OECD average. About 81.2% of them turn out to be active savers and this rate places us significantly above the average of other countries.
Meanwhile, survey data shows that 64.9% of Albanians do not borrow money to cover their monthly expenses, while 81.9% take care of their financial relationships. However, compared to others, in Albania there is a lower percentage of individuals who do not borrow money to cover their monthly expenses.
On the other hand, about 82% of Albanians said they make affordable purchases, a rate higher than in other countries, while 77.7% pay their bills on time.
Unlike the average in other countries, individuals in Albania almost do not receive advice on the purchases they make, compared to 21% and 24%, respectively, which is the average for the countries that participated in the survey and those of the OECD.
