Oil scheme in agriculture, Prime Minister Rama: We have removed abuses, not support for farmers

The abolition of the oil scheme for farmers does not reduce support for agriculture, on the contrary, it creates the opportunity for more financing. Prime Minister Rama told farmers that the money will go where it is needed and the abuses with agricultural oil will end.
"In this sense, we have not actually removed support for anyone who needs oil, but we have removed the possibility that oil can be abused and used for purposes unrelated to agriculture, because this is the truth. Or we have come to that conclusion for another fact, for example, that many people who work on other people's lands have been forced to take the oil and give it to others, because it was given for the surface area, the surface area is in someone else's name. That someone else has a Mercedes in the city and takes the oil from the person who works there," said Rama.
Rama used the meeting with olive oil processing entrepreneurs in Berat as a model, calling for more cooperation between farmers to benefit even more.
"By creating this consortium, which I very much hope others will join and will join because they have no other choice, you reduce costs, create critical mass for negotiation and export or market here, at a price that brings you added value. It's that simple, in a word."
The Prime Minister also requested that agricultural producers or investors in agro-processing be aware of guaranteeing standards with the aim of creating the possibility of exporting to European Union countries.
