"Pension reform is being prepared" - Rama: Economic growth allows us to support pensioners

Pension reform was the focus of Prime Minister Rama in a meeting with pensioners of Unit 2 of the Capital. He stated that economic growth has enabled the increase in pensions, and now is the opportunity to make changes to the scheme.
" The only thing we have done for years has been the indexation of pensions, but the indexation of pensions is not growth in the true sense of the word, and what I have told you and repeated in all cases when asked was that the truth prevented us from going to pensions, because the economy was not able to support us with a real growth plan. Finally, just as we had wished and just as we had concentrated all our efforts to achieve it, the moment came when the economy created this opportunity for us ," said Rama.
The Prime Minister also spoke about payments for people with disabilities and families in need.
"At the moment, they have a differentiation, but the truth is that someone who has lost their ability to work due to work cannot be left behind someone who has never worked, due to their skills, and we will correct this as well."
"You are the first and with you, of course, the families in need who are under the government's economic protection, for which we are preparing a new scheme based on a family spending card based on the basket, so that the lek they receive from Albanian taxes goes to the family, to their children," the prime minister said.
In his speech, the head of government added that the new loan program for young state employees will be approved.
