"Albania and the Western Balkans, the New EU Investment Front" - Rama: The new chapter of the European Union will not be signed only in Brussels
The First EU-Western Balkans Investment Forum is being held in Tirana, a forum that aims to strengthen the economic cooperation of the 6 Western Balkan countries with the 27 member states, as well as to attract more investments from the latter towards our region.
During the Forum's opening ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albania and the Western Balkans are the new EU investment front.
"Thank you Ursula for bringing us good news, but also other tasks. The history of the EU and the Western Balkans has been marked only by waiting. However, we have not stopped dreaming of changing history. And we are ready. The Western Balkans is not the EU's garden, but a new front full of energy. The green transition does not only have rules for example, but courage. The New Front means that European investments receive a new impetus, a place where the EU and the region meet to make the future possible. We want to be a laboratory of sustainability, from clean energy, to technology, artificial intelligence and innovation. The EU cannot depend on what it cannot control. The next chapter of the EU will not be written only in Brussels, but also in the 6 countries of the Western Balkans, from coal and steel to innovation. In the case of Poland, for example, a new front was opened by the EU and there were dizzying benefits for both sides", said the Prime Minister.
