In a media appearance from the headquarters of the Vetëvendosje Movement, the leader of this political party, also acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, stated that the results of the local elections the day before show that this party has emerged as the main political force in the country, even at the local level.
Kurti called this the best gift he said the people could have given him on the 20th anniversary of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
" LVV has only a 12-year history of participating in local elections, but these years have witnessed unstoppable and continuous growth. In 2013, we competed in local elections for the first time and won the capital, Pristina. In 2017, we won Pristina again and added Prizren and Kamenica. In 2021, we went to the runoff in 12 municipalities and won Gjilan, Kamenica, Podujevo and Shtime. After the resignations of mayors in the north in November 2022, in the extraordinary elections in the four municipalities in the north, we also won North Mitrovica and Leposavic," Kurti said.
