Albania sends to the EU the documentation for Chapter 29, "Customs Union"!

The Albanian Customs Administration announced today that it has officially submitted to the European Commission the full package of documentation required for "closing benchmarks" in Chapter 29 - "Customs Union", marking a substantial step forward in Albania's journey towards membership in the European Union.
This process involved extraordinary and coordinated work, where the administration prepared and submitted:
· Legislative calendar and tables of conformity with the EU acquis;
· Main administration strategies (business, human resources, training);
· Measures to increase the integrity and performance of the customs structure;
· Multi-annual national plan for IT systems and measures for interoperability with EU systems;
· Information on the ratification of the Protocol to the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control;
· The annual report "Green Book - Customs 2024 and Priorities 2025", published for the fourth consecutive year.
"The Albanian Customs Administration remains committed to continuing to fulfill all Chapter 29 obligations, ensuring legislative approximation, strengthening administrative capacities, advancing digital customs systems and deepening cooperation with the EU in the fight against illicit trade."
