New routes in the Albanian Alps - 3.63 million euro contract signed, improving

Improving accessibility and adventure tourism infrastructure in the Albanian Alps”. This is the investment that is expected to be carried out in the north of the country, with a focus on road interventions in one of the areas with tourist potential in the country.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has signed a contract worth approximately 3.63 million euros with the joint venture of operators BE -IS and Ergi shpk, which will carry out the field works. According to the data, the deadline for completion of the works is January 2027.

The interventions on this road axis are part of the Infrastructure and Tourism Project in Albania, which is financed by the European Union through technical assistance and investment grants totaling 40 million euros, as well as by a supplementary sovereign loan of 60 million euros provided by the EBRD to the Albanian government. The project is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund, while other similar contracts have been previously signed.

One of them is the contract worth 1.52 million euros for the rehabilitation of the road segment from the Sop roundabout to the Darzeza Bridge. The road is located in the Seman area and begins at the intersection with the Fier - Vlora National Road, Apollonia district, continues along the Hoxharë road segment and ends at the new Darzeza Bridge.

In parallel, within the framework of this program, the EBRD has also developed tenders for the improvement of the electricity network in the Albanian Alps, aiming to increase access to electricity in this area.
