Tirana Airport records record - 12 flights per hour and 35 passengers per minute of arrival
With around 12 flights per hour, Tirana Airport recorded its highest air traffic on the 4th of this month, reaching its peak. Around 51,000 passengers passed through the airport terminal in just one day, or, to put it another way, 35 passengers per minute.
Compared to August 14th of last year, when the last record was set, the number of flights has increased by 47 flights and 6,000 more passengers.
Tirana Airport is welcoming and transporting more and more travelers, both domestic and foreign. In recent months, two new routes have been added to Nantes and Bordeaux, further expanding the operational map.
The airport is continuing its positive trend, confirming the steady growth of air traffic in Albania. During the month of June 2025 alone, TIA welcomed around 1.15 million passengers, a significant increase compared to May. During the same period, 6,830 flights were operated, connecting Tirana with 103 destinations in 31 countries, through 27 airlines operating at this airport.
The most sought-after destinations remain Italian and British cities, with Milan, London, Rome, Bologna and Venice topping the list of travelers' preferences.
Meanwhile, August is expected to mark the highest number of passengers entering or leaving Rinas. The record is not only expected to be broken by foreign tourists who will arrive, but also by the number of Albanian citizens who will use this month to spend their holidays abroad.
