The "Rebirth" of Military Factories - Map with 9 Investments of the Ministry of Defense for the Development of the Defense Industry

From the Former Autotractor Plant to the Mechanical Plant in Poliçan, nine departments and factories will be revitalized to be put into operation by the Albanian military industry.
The former Autotractor Plant will be used for the production of uniforms and the assembly of armored vehicles, artillery carriers, fire engines and ambulances. A high-tech plant will be built there between KAYO and Timak, which includes investment in modern and innovative technologies for the production of military vehicles and high-quality uniforms for the Armed Forces and the Police.
The second investment is for the restoration of the Aviation School in Vlora. This is thanks to the cooperation of the state-owned company KAYO and the Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd. The memorandum between the two companies was signed exactly a year ago in Vlora. This cooperation will help build capacities for providing education and training programs for pilots and air traffic controllers, providing the Armed Forces with sustainable capacities in this sector. This school will generate not only military pilots, but also civilian pilots.
Third, the Copper Plant in Rubik will be turned into a weapons production plant. This is one of the points where investments will be made and production will be carried out for our Armed Forces, but mostly for export.
The Ministry of Defense has taken a legal initiative to revitalize military plants, such as the Poliçan Mechanical Plant, Mjekësi and Gramshi.
The Explosives Plant in Mjekë has been the company that has held the main weight in the process of industrial dismantling of surplus ammunition. The Ministry of Defense and the state-owned company “KAYO sh.a.” are working on the construction of an ammunition factory in the Kodër Babrru area.
Also in focus is the transformation and expansion of the existing air base in Kuçova.
