On average, over 31 thousand passengers per day traveled by plane/ Around 70 thousand flights were carried out in total during 2025

Statistics published by INSTAT for the fourth quarter show that air traffic in Albania has maintained a stable dynamic, although at a lower pace compared to the summer season. During this period, about 89 thousand flights were registered, of which 82.8% were transit flights. In total, according to statistics, about 70 thousand flights were carried out during 2025, an increase of almost 2.2% from the previous year. This has led to over 31 thousand passengers traveling per day by air transport.
However, the fourth quarter results in fewer flights compared to the third quarter, which is characterized by high tourist flows during the summer months. Despite this seasonal decline, the data shows a significant increase in the volume of goods transported by air.
According to INSTAT, the volume of goods (including mail) entering and leaving via air transport reached 743 tons, with 72.4% consisting of incoming goods and 27.6% of outgoing goods. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, this indicator marks an increase of 18.9%, reflecting the increase in trade and logistics activity via air transport.
Regarding air trade, the volume of goods exported and imported by air in the fourth quarter of 2025 reached 545 tons, an increase of 8.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Although air transport accounts for only 0.03% of the total volume of imported goods, it remains a strategic component for goods with high value and short delivery times.
Passenger numbers have also increased. During the fourth quarter, around 2.6 million passengers travelled via airlines, up from 2.3 million in the same period last year, which translates into an increase of 9.5%. Meanwhile, the airport's own statistics show that a total of 11.6 million passengers were registered throughout the year, a record figure for air traffic in the country.
