Online scams with false loan offers - State Police informs and raises awareness among citizens

The State Police, through the Cyber Crime Investigation Directorate, informs and raises awareness among citizens regarding cases of online fraud related to false loan offers.
Cases have been identified where unknown persons, through suspicious websites, social networks or electronic messages, present themselves as representatives of financial institutions and encourage citizens to apply online for loans, with the aim of fraudulently obtaining monetary benefits.
These offers are deceptive and aim to acquire citizens' personal and financial data.
The State Police advises citizens to:
To exercise increased caution and not send money, bank details or personal documents to unidentified persons or unsafe websites.
Before applying for loans from financial institutions, always verify the information.
Communicate directly with bank personnel, using only the official contacts published on the official websites of the respective banks, especially in cases where they are unable to physically appear at bank branches.
Citizens are invited to immediately report any suspected case of fraud to the State Police, in order to prevent and investigate these criminal offenses.
The State Police remains engaged in the fight against cybercrime and appeals for caution, verification and cooperation from citizens.
