Rains worsen the situation/ US Embassy appeals for caution in vulnerable areas
The United States Embassy in Tirana has announced that it is closely monitoring the flooding situation throughout Albania, calling on all American citizens in the country to exercise increased caution, especially in areas identified as at risk. According to the announcement, the situation in some areas is deteriorating and evacuation orders have been issued for residents.
"The United States Embassy in Tirana continues to monitor flooding across the country and urges all U.S. citizens to exercise caution in areas at risk of flooding, which is worsening. Several areas across the country are under evacuation orders. Flooding can occur without warning, while heavy rainfall may cause road closures due to flooding or landslides. U.S. citizens in Albania who need assistance can find more information here," the statement said.
