Rama in Lezha: Today the economy has reached 27 billion in production, we will

The Albanian economy aims to have a gross national product of 35 billion lek in 2030. This objective was mentioned by Prime Minister Rama in a meeting he had in Lezha. "We have taken the economy of this country with less than 10 billion lek in gross national product. Today, as we speak, we have brought it to nearly 27 billion. We want to bring it to 35 billion in 2030. It is doable. It is doable!", said Rama. For the head of government, salaries and pensions in Albania have increased and are also constantly increasing in the private sector.

"We knew that it was the weakest point, the weakest link in the entire social skeleton of Albania and of course, having great support from pensioners, we have always been aware that something definitely had to be done for pensioners, but we have not had the opportunity to do it. The economy has not allowed us to take it on and do it, but if we managed to do it and now pensions have entered the path of annual increases foreseen in subsequent budgets, with doubling every January, so they increased this January x, they will increase (x times 2) in the next January, they will increase (x times 3) in January 2028, they will increase (x times 4) in January 2029 and they will increase (x times 5) in January 2030, because the economy has created this opportunity for us", declared the Prime Minister.

The prime minister also mentioned several other economic indicators, focusing on tourism. "We have taken Albania with 2 million or so tourists, where we were counted as tourists and I with Pjerini. Every time we returned from a trip, they counted us as tourists. Even the foreign man who was prime minister counted himself as a tourist when he returned and said 2 million or so tourists. Even foreign investments of 300-400 million euros per year. We have reached 12 million tourists and have exceeded 1.5 billion in foreign investments."

Regarding these figures, Rama said that the government is fully committed to integrating the country into the EU. "We have been given the opportunity to take Albania with our own hands and lead it to the waiting room of the European Union, making it an equal member of that family. This is a very big thing and, just as history will not forget if we achieve it, history will not forgive us if, through our fault, this is not achieved," Rama declared.
