"After-school" program eases family finances - Kaptelli: A parent's salary goes to private centers

The "after-school" program is now part of the changes to the law on pre-university education, voted on last week in the Assembly.
This program has been requested for several years by unions and parents, as school hours do not match official work hours, creating high costs for families.
The President of the Independent Education Union of Albania, Nevruz Kaptelli, says that this program will significantly ease the burden on parents, both in terms of time saved, the financial burden of private centers, and also safety.

Kaptelli also shows the suggestions that the union has made to the institutions for the teachers who will work in these centers.
This program will begin piloting from the next school year, 2026-2027, and will be offered in schools in the capital, while experts suggest expanding it throughout the country, including rural areas.
