Finance and IT with the highest salaries in Albania/ The average salary in the country reaches 87 thousand lek by the end of 2025

The average gross monthly salary in Albania reached 87 thousand lekë in the fourth quarter of 2025. According to data published by INSTAT, this represents an increase of 4.3%, compared to the same period in 2024 and an increase of 4.4% compared to the third quarter of 2025.
The increase in salaries in the last quarter of the year is also related to additional payments and bonuses that are usually given at the end of the year, which affect the increase in the average salary.
The sectors with the highest salaries in the economy remain financial and insurance activities, where the average salary reached 173,283 lek. Following them is the information and communication sector with an average salary of 131 thousand lek. This sector also marked the largest annual increase in salaries, with 7.9%.
On the other hand, the lowest wage increase was recorded in the arts, entertainment and other services sector, where wages increased by only 2.2%.
In terms of professions, the highest salaries are for managers, legislators and executive directors, with an average of 135 thousand lek per month. Meanwhile, specialists with higher education are paid an average of 115 thousand lek. The highest annual salary increase was recorded by the Armed Forces with 10.6%, followed by civil servants with 6.2%.
The data also shows a shift in employment towards higher wages. The share of employees earning over 120 thousand lek per month increased from 14.1% to 16.2% within a year, while the percentage of those paid up to the minimum wage decreased.
