"Pensions will increase every month"/ Rama: From January until the end of the mandate!
Prime Minister Edi Rama said through a video message on social media that, starting in January of this year, pensions will increase every month beyond annual indexation.
Rama announced that the government approved the 2026 draft budget the night before, while emphasizing that this mandate will be one of increasing pensions, bringing the full pension to 400 thousand old lek by the end of the mandate.
"At the end of the mandate, the average urban pension will go to 40 thousand lek from 27 thousand lek today, the partial urban pension will go to 22 thousand lek from 15 thousand lek currently, the rural pension will go to 18 thousand lek from 11.5 thousand lek today, the family pension will go to 18 thousand lek from 11 thousand lek today," said Rama.
