Integrated waste management - Fier and Elbasan, soon with a new modern

The cities of Fier and Elbasan are expected to have a new and modern infrastructure for integrated waste management. The Centralized Purchasing Operator has opened two tenders with a total value of 66.1 million lek for the design of infrastructure in these two cities.

Referring to the document in the Public Procurement Agency, the design for the Elbasan waste area has a limit fund of 34 million lek and foresees the creation of a solid waste management system, providing a sustainable, economically efficient solution in accordance with environmental standards. The purpose of the expansion is to increase the storage capacity and ensure sustainable waste management for periods of 10–20 years.

On the other hand, one of the requests submitted by the company "ECO - ELB" sh.ae to the waste management of Elbasan is the installation of a photovoltaic plant with a production capacity of 2mW/h, to improve the current environmental situation near the Elbasan regional landfill and increase energy efficiency in the service of the facilities that will be put into production.

On the other hand, the project for the Fier waste area has a limit fund of 32 million lek and foresees the creation of a solid waste management system for Fier. This project will reduce pollution and improve the quality of life.

Likewise, in the Fier region, the installation of a photovoltaic plant with a production capacity of 2mW/h is planned in the landfill, to improve the current environmental situation in the vicinity of the Fier regional landfill. Meanwhile, the purpose of installing the photovoltaic plant is: providing stable and low-cost electricity for the landfill; reducing dependence on the national grid, and will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and the implementation of greening objectives, according to the document of the Public Procurement Agency.
