Student demand for "agriculture" increases - 74th anniversary of UBT, Rama: It will become a regional university

The Agricultural University of Tirana will become a regional university, with students from the country and the region. This was stated by Prime Minister Edi Rama as he participated in the International Conference on Life Sciences and Agriculture, on the 74th anniversary of the Agricultural University in Tirana, describing science and technology as close allies for farmers.
"He asked me to support the idea of lowering the average at this university and going in a direction that would bring in more people, but would compromise the quality of human resources available to the country's development."
"Today has brought a situation of optimism that has resulted in 20% plus students at UBT. Not students with low averages to bring them, but because they have knocked on the doors of the university that has opened a new perspective for young people and to see tomorrow in this field ," said Rama.
Meanwhile, the rector of UBT, Fatbardh Sallaku, underlined that UBT's mission is to translate international developments into applicable knowledge for Albanian farmers.
"We have recently initiated important reforms that are turning the university into a modern campus, which performs knowledge and creates new academic standards. A special place in this cooperation is occupied by the BOKU University of Vienna, which is now part of the UBT academic network, giving a new dimension to the scientific and academic development of this institution ," he said.
Also present at the event were Karl Bergner, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Monika Zach, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, who spoke about the importance of cooperation and investments in the agricultural sector.
