Years of work for former agricultural enterprises are recognized - Government approves the decision. How many people are expected to benefit?
The Council of Ministers has approved the list of former agricultural enterprises, according to the year of establishment and the territory of activity, for pension purposes in the social security system for farmers and livestock breeders. This list serves as the basis for the recognition of years of work in the social security system for the period before 1992.
The law will facilitate the recognition of insurance periods, solving problems with old documentation and avoiding administrative obstacles. This will help many citizens who have not managed to complete the minimum insurance period for pension benefits, avoiding long and expensive legal proceedings.
This important decision paves the way for the recognition of work periods up to 1992 for around 30,000 agricultural sector employees, who have contributed over the years to state-owned enterprises and agricultural cooperatives, essential to the rural economy.
Those who have worked in these activities, in planting, harvesting, irrigation, collection, processing and maintenance of agricultural land will have the opportunity to benefit from the pension scheme in the social security system. Many of them, who were not able to fulfill the minimum insurance period to benefit from a pension, will now have a real opportunity to achieve this right.
Last year, the Social Security Institute had a list of 72 former cooperatives where years of work were recognized. Currently, the number of state-owned enterprises, agricultural enterprises, and former cooperatives is higher.
The law facilitates the process of verifying years of insurance, overcoming the difficulties of missing documentation and avoiding administrative costs, for citizens who have not managed to complete the minimum period for receiving a pension.
The decision to approve the list of former agricultural enterprises overcomes this multi-year impasse, facilitating the process of verifying years of work for former agricultural sector employees, who have contributed over the years to state-owned enterprises and cooperatives, which were once pillars of rural development in the country.
