e-Albania assistance desks open in Fier Municipality - Balluku: Government will take measures to punish abusers
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, together with the Mayor of Fier, Armando Subashi, visited the counters open to serve citizens who need assistance for various applications on the e-Albania portal.
"We have recently identified that there is an abuse in the market, where in the offices of lawyers and notaries we have seen posters, where it is written that services are offered for e-albania. E-albania is one of the prides of the Albanian government, it is precisely the point where every citizen can apply to receive services without the need to have any intermediaries, neither lawyers, nor notaries. These are services that are obtained online and are services that have been digitalized to shorten the time of application and receipt of the service. Therefore, we have asked all municipalities everywhere, and even administrative units, to have dedicated positions where citizens come, whether they are elderly or do not have the opportunity to access e-albania and receive this service in real time and without any payment."
According to the mayor of Fier, citizens who are unable to access e-albania now have two counters near the municipality to receive online services at no additional charge.
“This is the one-stop office of the Municipality, all people come here. Each directorate that has public relations has its own counter and representative, they receive people, explain them, receive complaints. Then the corresponding directorate reviews them and responds. After the change, we have opened two new counters. We have left two operators available to assist the elderly, who are not able to log in and assist e-Albanian themselves and are assisted by Municipality employees for free.”
Among other things, Balluku stressed that the government will take immediate measures to stop this abusive activity and that all law firms or notaries who offer e-albania services for a fee will be punished.
