Smart meters for electricity - OSSH opens 55 million lek tender, installation in 67 substations
With a limited fund of almost 55 million lek, the Distribution System Operator has opened the tender for the supply and installation of smart meters in 67 electrical substations, as part of a project to modernize and improve the electricity metering system in the country. The project aims to replace existing meters, which are outdated and no longer provide the accuracy and reliability necessary for the optimal functioning of the network.
The new meters will be equipped with advanced technology that enables real-time reading and recording of data for each feeder at the substations. The data will be automatically transmitted to the DSO's Advanced Metering Management (AMI) system, significantly improving the monitoring, control and operational efficiency of the network.
In addition to supply and assembly, the contract also includes testing and commissioning of the equipment, which must meet European safety, quality and environmental protection standards, bearing the CE marking as proof of compliance.
The new equipment is expected to play an important role in cases of defects or damage to existing equipment, facilitating their replacement and significantly reducing the time of electricity supply interruption for affected subscribers.
According to OSSH, the supply will be carried out with the latest technology from manufacturing plants, guaranteeing high efficiency and long life of the equipment. This investment comes as part of efforts to modernize the distribution network and improve customer service.
