Fuel prices/ Malaj: The situation is being seen in several plans, the Transparency Board will be established in case of abuses

Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, said that the situation with hydrocarbon prices is being viewed on two levels.
"The first plan is about monitoring prices and profit margins applied by hydrocarbon wholesalers/retailers. The second plan is to increase customs/tax efficiency, which aims to reduce tax evasion and smuggling," said Malaj.
The Minister added that the task force has been on the ground for a month and several violations have been identified for which measures have been taken. Monitoring continues, the plan has no deadline and the Transparency Board will be established in case of abuses.
"The structures will continue monitoring on the ground and if there are abuses, we will be forced to establish a Transparency Board to take further measures. The plan will be extended indefinitely, until the situation calms down," Malaj said.
