Rama to oil suppliers: Better less profit than having the board on your back!

Prime Minister Edi Rama told the country's oil suppliers that at the moment it is not considered reasonable to establish a board to set the price of this product.
"We have not seen fit to take the initiative and go on board, because at the end of the day, if the dialogue works, as it has worked so far, our goal is not to force you into your work, but to jointly agree that the crisis in the Middle East cannot be projected entirely onto the shoulders of consumers. This means lower profit margins for you, but on the other hand, lower margins are better than the board on your back," said Rama.
He congratulated them on the fact that prices in Albania have not increased like in other countries of the world due to the war in Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
"Nobody knows how the price of oil will go. I congratulate you because, if in the world there has been an increase in the price of oil of up to 40%, here there has been an increase, but not at those levels," he said.
He informed suppliers that the government has taken an initiative to introduce a state-owned factor as a wholesale distributor. “This will make your work easier, as it will guarantee the necessary quantities and facilitate relations with third parties,” Rama added.
