Kosovo business welcomes the end of the EU "blockade" - "The lifting of financial measures is a positive development for the economy"

The Kosovo Business Association has described the European Commission's decision to lift financial measures against Kosovo as very positive news. According to them, this decision represents an important and encouraging development for the country's economy, paving the way for more financial opportunities and international cooperation.
The measures, which were in force for a certain period, are considered to have negatively impacted the business sector, limiting access to funds and hindering the implementation of development projects.
Their removal, according to the Business League, is expected to improve the investment climate, facilitate economic cooperation with international partners and impact Kosovo's economic growth. The League has emphasized the importance of continuing reforms and strengthening partnerships with European institutions, with the aim of ensuring sustainable development and integration into European Union markets.
A day ago, the European Commission confirmed that all financial measures against Kosovo have been lifted. This was announced during the debate on the Kosovo report that took place in the European Parliament. During the debate, regret was expressed for the lost year in Kosovo due to the political stalemate that lasted the entire year of 2025.
The lifting of the measures came a few days after an agreement on the Law on Foreigners was reached in Pristina. Officials from the European foreign service said that "We welcome the steps taken by Kosovo in relation to maintaining the rule of law. This will enable Kosovo Serbs to continue to reside, study and work in Kosovo legally, according to Kosovo law". The agreement, according to European representatives, is proof that the dialogue is bringing results.
