"Between the Seman and the Vjosa Rivers", project details revealed - Balluku: Innovative project, important for the economic development of the area
During a hearing on the project "Between Seman and Vjosa", the details and master plan of this project were presented.
In her speech, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, described it as one of the most important projects in the Fier region, in terms of economic development.
"I call it an economic development, since tourism has become the number one contributory sector to the country's income. In recent years alone, 5 billion euros have been injected into the Albanian economy from tourism, considering that the year ended with 12 million foreign visitors. The novelty of this project is that we have the opportunity to design a large coastal area, studying the infrastructure and providing the opportunity to address all the requests coming from the local government, the requests coming from the central government due to the volumes of visitors that we plan in the coming years. This will be an innovative project in all aspects. It is much easier to build a new area than to systematize an area that has been built incorrectly. In the coming days, opportunities to hold hearings. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy will ask the Municipality of Fier to create the conditions to host a group of architects together with foreign consultants and to hold a workshop of several days where the entire terrain will be supervised to complete this project. The Albanian Development Fund, based on its program for economic and social cohesion, will begin to take the first steps of construction in the area and of course the first steps have to do with the facilities that are dedicated to the public, starting with the 21 km promenade, continuing with the pier that ends in a runway where conditions will be created and for visitors coming from the sea, conditions will also be created for the anchoring of small ships that can give the area a different impact, so not only tourism that comes from land but also from the sea and continuing with all those recreational places that are related to young people, youth, children and the elderly. The potentials available in this region are very diverse, from agricultural, touristic potential to the night and gas extraction sector that are related to important economic components.”
Meanwhile, Ceno Klosi, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, emphasized in his speech that this is one of the most important projects of the city of Fier, of the entire area, including the entire region, because it will be one of the developments of the city, and will take the city to another dimension.
"Fieri has a coast that has not been developed for many years, but this project will completely transform Fieri, where it will make it possible that any development that will be done today and in the future will be according to a standard where we will be able to have elite tourism for the first time in the Republic of Albania. There will be no construction without criteria up to the seashore, a coast with unspoiled nature like Lalzi Bay, but this project will be done with a master plan. The transformation of this city through this project is very fast, because this project is not simply a coastal development, but a coastal development that has an important gateway behind it, which will start to become operational very quickly, such as the Vlora Airport, and we will become the second coast after Durrës, which has such an important gateway even closer than Durrës, and we are called the most complete coast in the Republic of Albania."
On the other hand, Adelina Greca, director of the National Territorial Planning Agency, made a technical presentation of the project on how the project will be developed, which is of interest to everyone, businesses and individuals.
"Our development demands are not new, that territory had a will to change it in the context of tourism, but simply before there was insufficient time. So in the plans of that time there was talk of a development vision of the Darëzeza coast with diverse structures ranging from 2-6 floors, for hotels with a height of 5-6 floors, but also apartment-type hotels with 3-4 floors, holiday homes for children, young people; a day camp for children, locker cabins for daily needs; a social center, an administrative center; games, entertainment, a shopping center, a watchtower, service points; various clubs for entertainment; playgrounds, as well as places for vehicles. The development that we want to give to Darëzeza goes along these lines, but with a contemporary spirit, this is a plan in the same spirit of the '80s and we would like to change this image by structuring that area well enough to provide all the necessary services. The structures will "They will be environmentally friendly, they will be tourism structures, but also agrotourism and ecotourism, transport will be biodiversity-friendly and we will try to ensure that energy is produced from renewable energy."
