Beach management during the season/ Rama: Drone surveillance of beaches, control of businesses with Artificial Intelligence!
During the meeting held today with entrepreneurs and representatives of the tourism sector in Saranda, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the management of beaches in Albania, emphasizing that next year there will be a significant improvement, as a series of measures have been taken to supervise the space on the beaches, including a clear separation between private and public beaches.
"This is the constant struggle of everyone to occupy space in the sense of doing business, to win, etc. This will be a new experience this year, it will be much better than it was last year because a clear relationship has been created between the beaches that will be managed by private structures and those public beaches, the municipalities have undertaken to do some very good things, the municipalities of Lezhë, Vlorë, Durrës, Saranda. Saranda has historically had a public beach, where there is more space, the municipalities will have their own offer with umbrellas and sun loungers, whoever wants it, whoever doesn't want to just put down their towel, as for Ksamil, which today has become a global trend," he said.
He also added that the use of technology in monitoring businesses and controlling transactions will also begin. Rama underlined that after the implementation of fiscalization, the government is developing a new model with Microsoft for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business supervision.
"They are also doing something else that has to do with business after we created fiscalization, you all have a cash register that transmits every transaction 24 hours a day, now we are creating together with Microsoft an AI model that will do, so to speak, what inspectors physically do today to see if you have stepped on the cash register, that button in a regular manner or if you have cheated, the model is being trained and the results are fantastic, which means that the entire process will be supervised on a national scale by a virtual inspector, this will make business controls minimal and that income and the relationship between business and the state will be very transparent ," he said.
Rama also emphasized that the government has made a plan for monitoring beaches with drones.
"Regarding the beaches, we will start the project, we have approved funding with the United Arab Emirates for all surveillance with intelligent cameras on the roads and schools, we also have beaches there. We have currently conducted beach surveillance with drones on a daily basis and we will see how the beaches are managed. We are doing some more training with these geospatial experts who film the drones and take them and insert them into that spatial calculation network, which I believe will have other challenges as the rules come out and they say, "but I am convinced that it will be much better than it was", Rama said during a meeting with entrepreneurs in Saranda .
