"Property values will double" - Rama: Invest today, because after entering the EU it will return to you in kindness
With membership in the European Union, property prices are expected to double. In a meeting with young entrepreneurs in Saranda, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that Albania is the ideal place to invest today, as property values will increase with EU integration.
"The moment we enter the EU, all properties will experience a double price increase immediately as the history of all countries that have entered has shown. When Croatia entered the EU, a month after everything jumped twice as much as real estate becomes an object of interest. It is no longer simply the interest of the population that lives here. Just like a new city being added to Albania and having the potential that Albania has. Imagine what interest there would be that even though they double, they are cheaper than developed EU countries. So whatever investment you make today, after a few years it will return to you in good faith."
Regarding the Mountains Package, the Prime Minister emphasized that it is sufficient to obtain a proof of ownership from the Municipal Council to make the agreement with the state, obtain the construction permit and begin the investment.
"The first 500 who will apply to develop a property for agrotourism, for agroprocessing, or for any other development of a rural nature that requires an investment, but mainly for agrotourism, will have a 10-year period without any taxes. The 501st will pay taxes. For those who have vision and courage, Albania is the ideal place to invest because it gives you the opportunity to then earn much more than what you can earn abroad and working for others."
Regarding the failure to declare the number of beds by hotel structures, Rama stated that they will give them an option to accept a pre-declaration with an agreement to pay 65% during the peak period, if they do not want any tax control. Also, an artificial intelligence model is being created to inspect their violations.
