Closing the group chapters, the next challenge for the country - How advanced are we in each of the fields?

Albania has passed another phase of the European Union accession process, marking the opening of negotiations for the last chapter group of the EU acquis on “Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion”. Thus, for a period of 3 years since the holding of the First Intergovernmental Conference which marked the official start of the negotiations, our country has opened all the chapters groups.
Or to put it another way, about 1 year after the opening of the first chapter group, the other 5 have also been opened.
However, now begins the next phase, that of closing the chapters, which consists of fulfilling all the milestones set by the European Union. Chapter 5 on agriculture will undoubtedly not be easy for Albania.
In most chapters, Albania has some preparation, while there has been limited progress in the areas of food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy, in administrative capacity building and legislative harmonisation in the field of agriculture and rural development, as well as in approximation with the EU acquis in basic policy areas affecting the functioning of the European Union's financing system.
In the Green Agenda chapter group, i.e. the environment, Albania appears weaker, where for the most part there is also some level of preparation.
On the other hand, our country has a good level of preparation in the chapter group on foreign relations, so this will also be the cluster with which negotiations will be concluded most quickly, taking into account the fact that it has the smallest number of chapters.
Despite the fact that Chapter Group 3 "Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth" has 8 chapters, our country still presents a moderate and good level of preparation.
Meanwhile, the Internal Market is the one with the largest number of chapters, while in the first one on "Basics of Membership" which is opened first and usually closed last, we have the advantage of Justice Reform, while it turns out that progress has also been made in several areas.
The ambitious objective of the government and the European Union at the same time is to close the group chapters in 2027 and after that the Accession Treaty will be signed and ratified by the parliaments of the 27 member states. After that, Albania can become a member of the EU.
