KESH conducts first energy sale - Rainfall increases production, securing around 1.1 million euros in revenue

As flows in the Drini Cascade have reached high levels as a result of recent rainfall, the Albanian Power Corporation has sold a small amount of energy, generating income for the company.
Through a procedure developed for the period January 10-11, KESH managed to sell 18,944 MW of energy, at an average price of 57.64 euros, generating around 1.1 million euros in revenue.
Meanwhile, according to updated data on the situation in the Drin River Cascade, natural flows at the Fierza HPP are 1500 m3/s, at the Koman HPP 500 m3/s, while at the Vau i Dejës hydropower plant 60 m3/s. Compared to the previous day, natural flows have marked a significant decrease. Meanwhile, daily production at the three HPPs is 16,300 mWh. Compared to the previous day, an increase in daily production is noted, according to data reported by KESH.
Regarding the levels in the lakes of the Drini Cascade, Fierza has reached 289.8 meters above sea level, Komani 173.3 mmnd, while Vau i Dejës 74.9 mmnd. KESH also announces that it is continuing the discharges from the Komani and Vau i Dejës hydropower plants.
The first days of this year present a stark contrast to last year, which was not good from an energy point of view, due to the lack of rainfall, causing the total bill for energy imports to reach over 160 million euros.
