Living in state buildings, Deputy Prime Minister Koçiu: 2000 families

Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu held a meeting with residents of Administrative Unit No. 6 in Tirana, where she informed citizens about the latest decision of the Albanian Government that paves the way for the privatization of housing for families who have been living in former dormitories and state buildings for years.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Koçiu emphasized that this process was an early request of the community and that now, thanks to coordination between state institutions, beneficiary families will have the opportunity to be provided with official ownership documents for the apartments where they have lived for decades.

About 130 families in Unit No. 6 will directly benefit from this decision, while at the national level the number of beneficiaries reaches about 2000 families. The process includes residents of the former dormitories of the Student City, the Bachelors' Palace and other state buildings that have been converted into apartments for citizens over the years.

Deputy Prime Minister Koçiu stated that the decision approved by the Council of Ministers creates the opportunity for families to complete procedures at the State Cadastre Agency and the Municipality of Tirana to finalize the privatization of their apartments.
