Gjirokastra, a favorite destination in every season - Rama: 500 thousand visitors by July

Gjirokastra is attracting a large number of foreign tourists, as well as domestic visitors, even in these first days of autumn. Part of UNESCO's world heritage, tourists are being captivated by the architecture, history, cuisine and the entire potential of the areas surrounding the stone city. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today on social networks the impressions of some of the visitors who have experienced the magic of Gjirokastra, which from January to July has welcomed 500 thousand visitors.
"I'm from Switzerland. We made our first car trip here in Albania for ten days. We went to Himara, Gjirokastra, Ksamil and had a very good experience, excellent food and the people are very kind. We are also very happy that we came here, exchanged experiences with them and had a wonderful experience in this country" - said a tourist from Switzerland.
"I come from the United States of America. It's a wonderful country, the people are hospitable. There's a lot of history, the food is excellent. We visited Shkodra, we hiked from Valbona to Theth, we had a great time. Then we went to Saranda and of course to Tirana," said the tourist from the US.
"Albania is a great place to visit. I simply enjoyed my stay here and I recommend everyone to visit Albania. This city is one of the most beautiful places I have visited in my life and it leaves you speechless. Come visit it," added a visitor from Germany.
After visiting the most beautiful and interesting parts of Gjirokastra, many tourists choose to stay a few more days, which they dedicate to exploring the archaeological sites and surrounding villages, where a considerable number of guesthouses have been established.
